Shadi Awwad is a Regional Director within Elsevier’s Research Intelligence group, currently leading and managing the Emerging Markets teams in the Middle East, Central & Eastern Europe, Russia and Central Asia. Joining in 2014, Shadi is an established expert and advisor in research strategy, intelligence, management and evaluation, having supported multiple national bodies, international organizations and key academic institutions within these domains.

Shadi also previously worked at the Executive Offices of His Majesty the King Abdullah II of Jordan. His achievements include key support in the development of national policies across the economic and social domains, as well as supporting with major organizational development projects. Shadi also worked in business development and as a consultant advisor within the private sector.

With a diverse heritage and cultural background, he calls both Jordan and the USA his home, and is an avid underwater Scuba Diver. Based in Amman, Jordan, he is married to Sama, and they have two daughters, Jayda and Ayla.
