Dr. Frederic Caillaud is an internationally renowned expert in technology transfer, innovation management, and R&D strategy. He served as the Deputy General Manager in charge of Innovation at the French Patent Office (INPI) for five years after working at L’Oréal for two decades as the Director of the Licensing and Business Development Department. During his career, he has overseen the evaluation, negotiation, and management of numerous partnerships, licensing, and acquisition projects worldwide, covering various industrial sectors.
Dr. Frédéric has also played a significant role in developing new methods to measure the technological impact of patented inventions and to rank innovative companies. He has worked for seven years as the Licensing and Business Development Director for Fournier Pharma and served as the Director of a Genetic Engineering Department for Rhône-Poulenc Pharma for four years before that.
Dr. Frédéric holds a Ph.D. in Genetic Engineering from the Pasteur Institute of Paris and a postgraduate degree in Strategic Management from HEC School of Management. He advises multiple public institutions on innovation management and serves as a mandated expert for WIPO. Frédéric has delivered over 251 lectures, coaching sessions, and training sessions worldwide.
