With over 24 years of experience in senior management positions within the realm of higher education, Dr. Abood Al Sawafi has been instrumental in fostering academic and financial growth throughout his career. His most recent role as the Vice Chancellor at the University of Buraimi, which he assumed in 2019, saw him spearheading initiatives to transform the institution into an entrepreneurial university. Prior to this, Dr. Abood served as the Vice Chancellor of A’ Sharqiyah University from 2013 to 2018, overseeing comprehensive transformations in programs and infrastructure. His impact extends further, as he previously held the position of Vice Chancellor at Sohar University, where he initiated numerous successful reforms and strategic plans. His involvement in national committees, such as the Research Council and the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, underscores his commitment to Oman’s education and industrial sectors.
